Microneedling

Microneedling Treatment in Northglenn, CO | Uptown Medical

microneedling

Are you looking to improve your skin’s texture and appearance? Our microneedling procedure requires little downtime and is simple, non-invasive, and non-surgical. Microneedling works by creating thousands of microchannels that stimulate your body’s natural wound healing process while minimizing cellular damage. This rejuvenates the skin from the inside out. The result is effective remodeling of scar tissue while keeping the overall structure of the skin intact!

BENEFITS

Despite needles being involved in this simple procedure, few patients report feeling any type of discomfort during the treatment. To eliminate any potential pain, we can also apply a topical numbing cream if you’d like.

Our aestheticians will use the SkinPen® microneedling device on your skin to stimulate your skin’s natural ability to repair itself. Thousands of precise micro-injuries are created in the top layer of the skin, automatically triggering new collagen synthesis without causing scar tissue formation. Microneedling is typically done in a series of treatments spaced four weeks apart for the most dramatic results. Call today to schedule an appointment!

Most patients get the desired results after about three sessions and leave their visit with:

Microneedling works through a process that allows the skin’s natural self-repair process to create new collagen and elastin through microchannels in the skin. This type of collagen induction therapy will help heal your skin and bring life back into it. During the short period of downtime, you’ll quickly see improvements in your skin’s tone, texture, and overall appearance.

Microneedling treatments improve your skin’s tone, texture, and appearance. With microneedling, you can reduce the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles, large pores, stretch marks, as well as acne and surgical scars. Added collagen and elastin will rejuvenate and correct tired skin. Whether you have particular skin goals in mind or want an overall refreshed appearance, our microneedling services can address all your concerns.

Anyone who wants to rejuvenate their skin or looking to improve the appearance of a scar, stretch mark, or large pores and wrinkles is a great candidate for microneedling. This procedure can be performed on all types of skin, and microneedling for acne scars is becoming common practice.

Anyone who has a history of keloid scarring, scleroderma, collagen vascular diseases, cardiac abnormalities, hemorrhagic disorder or dysfunction, or has an active bacterial or fungal infection can’t receive microneedling treatments by Uptown Medical Aesthetics. Additionally, anyone who is being seen by a physician for any type of autoimmune disorder whose treatment is daily anti-inflammatory medications may not get the desired results. An inflammatory response is necessary for the body to produce collagen.

Microneedling is extremely customizable and can be performed on your face, neck, décolleté, arms, hands, legs, abdomen, and back. Any scars must be at least one year old before undergoing microneedling on that area.

The procedure will take about one hour of your time. For the first 30 minutes, we will numb the area prior to treatment, and an additional 30 minutes to treat the area thoroughly. Please plan on arriving at least 15 minutes prior to your scheduled appointment to prep.

The unique design of the SkinPen® allows for personalized settings, which makes microneedling very comfortable for most of our patients. Topical numbing cream can be applied for deeper treatments if you’re worried about discomfort.

You’ll typically notice results immediately following your microneedling procedure. Your skin will look and feel healthier, and as the natural repair process continues to progress over the next several weeks, you’ll see even more dramatic results. Keep in mind any collagen remodeling process takes time, and damage that has occurred over an extensive period won’t disappear immediately. You may not see the final result for up to three to six months following your final session. Individual results for microneedling treatments will vary.

The number of microneedling procedures you receive will be determined by the health of your skin, as well as your individual skin goals. Most patients looking to refresh and rejuvenate their skin should receive a series of three treatments spaced about four weeks apart. Patients who are looking for a more aggressive correction of scars, large pores, and deeper wrinkles should plan on a series of six total treatments spaced every four weeks. Your provider will develop a maintenance plan tailored to your specific needs and desires.

We typically recommend patients resume their normal skincare and makeup regimen three to four days following their microneedling procedure, depending on the area treated and the type of treatment performed.

For the first few days, most of our patients will experience some mild side effects from their microneedling procedure. For the first two to four days, redness/pinkness is common. You might feel sunburnt for the first 12-24 hours, and slight swelling is possible. The area that was treated will feel tight and dry in the first 48 hours, and post-care instructions for proper product application will be provided. Some patients may experience light to moderate flaking on days three to five.
